The Programming Commences

A few years ago I made a small battle system (http://quixjote.com/novarpg/) just to test some things and I was pleasantly surprised how well it did in just a couple weeks. Since then I have been wanting to expand upon this battle system to make a full web game, and I finally have the time to work on it... 4 years later. Oh well... Time flies. Follow up:
One of the largest downsides to my first system I made was that I did not take advantage of ANY of PHP class based structure, which made trying to update the system a pain. This time around everything is built class based and I will be able to administer the site without having to make direct DB or code changes. Of course, this makes me very happy, and I am sure it will make the players a lot happier too.
The plan right now is to allow new players to start playing in the new game starting July 1st. Shortly here I will have an email sign-up on the dedicated domain, which I will list within a week or so.
One thing I am definitely keeping from my 2008 system is the Premium Currency. Back then it was kinda a taboo, but still did very well. Now... It seems like all the web games have premium items. Why am I not surprised. (Sort of like how I said back in HS that major programs should offer subscription options for their programs, like Photoshop and MS Office... and they finally do and are doing better for it.)
What platform will my game be on the web though... Actually, I am going to keep it as pure HTML/JS as possible. No flash (At least not at this time. If someone wants to help with a flash integration down the road, I am not against it, I am just not good with flash).
